WTF…. lol… that’s “bodgit and scarper”
I hope you did not charge for that job or got paid for doing it deeeee
big mistake not back buttering or spreading thin set with trowel on back on big tiles like these first winter and they will be popping off.
wow, i wouldn’t let you tile my door step
somebody mentioned about him being fast ? 6 minutes to spread adhiesive for 1 row of 6 tiles ?
10mm trowel at least for 60 x 60s
spacer levelling system may have helped too
Spreading of the adhesive was agonising to watch -why go ovor and over and over it?
Why do you use Gray adhesive with them light tiles it should be white Adhesive as you will see the gray though the tiles and in the grout lines if you use a ivory or cream grout
HOW NOT TO DO FLOORS !!!!!
looks more like a brick layer then a tile guy
Too slow. Cud b alil faster
GRACIAS ME AYUDO MUCHO
If you didn’t use the trowel so much you might get more done…. Boring video
is that the fonz do a spot of diy sort your trowel out pal
Not that this means anything but, it looks like your laying down the same size tile that was on the floor before?

very impressed . thanks for sharing us.
Interesting that Chinese commenters think this is good work. It is not !
How many Chinese restaurants have I been in with broken tiles under my feet ?
Answer : countless !
Yes he is doing things quickly and is spacing and checking lippage with his level however as one commenter mentioned you can hear the hollow under these large tiles. That means do not roll anything heavy across them unless you want to be chipping out and repairing later. Or as the Chinese do , leave it broken so we can all see that you hired your amateur brother to install the tiles.
I will cut Skylark some slack though because this is not a new instillation but rather a retrofit where all kinds of compromises come into play. White mortar costs more than gray as does a proper medium bed thickness. And as mentioned if spread to a proper thickness and backbuttered the result may have been too high to match the old tiles anyway. So compromises are made, what else is new ? Certainly understandable but the video is not an example to be viewed as a proper way of instillation as some no nothing fanboys are doing in the comments posted here.
Go Back to China
YOU SHOULD PUT MORE ADHESIVE FOR SUCH SIZE TILES. AND ON TOP OF IT YOU SHOUD BANG THE TILE TO GO DOWN AT LEAST 2MM SO THE BED UNDERNEATH IS EVEN. THAT MALLET HO MY LORD.IF IT WORKS FOR YOU VERY GOOD BUT IT SHOULD BE MEDIUM SOFT MALLET NOT HARD. YOU CAN MAKE THE TIME WEAK.
I AM A STONE MASON NOT A TILER,TAKE THIS ADVICE:
IF A STONE OR TILE GOES EASY INTO PLACE TAKE IT OFF AND PUT MORE ADHESIVE.
that suction cup is very handy , where can i get good one like that ???
neat job !!
If he thought he knew what he was doing who am I to say otherwise.
