If you have a doorway in a room, can you start at the doorway , slide it under and then work across the room to eliminate the need for trimming the tab and gluing it?

MrYoucandoityourself says:

You are absolutely right, my friend. When customers look at my work they often ask me: Why you charge for your job so much? It is very easy to do! 🙂

Janell Dunn says:

great video! Was wondering how the hoo hoo I was going under the door jam with out tilting the board. Turned my frown upside down. I have a few damaged boards from my learning curve for later

HOOO HOOO says:

hi i m just a new guy to flooring , how many inches should i cut inside the door jams, and how to measure that piece thanks

Brian vetter says:

Any suggestions on doing this around a door frame when you cant cut one side due to the fact it has to be connected to another piece?

Neil Mcintosh says:

Why didn’t you just saw all the way through the door jambs at the height of the laminate??  This is how professionals do it..

raymond milewski says:

I was in the bathroom watching this and got yelled at by my wife, she thought I was watching porn .. Great music selection..

dontpeek88 says:

How far are your joints spaced?

ChaCha Smith says:

Rubbish! You have to undercut the door frame to allow for expansion, otherwise your laminate will buckle in a couple months

Brian Walker says:

My question is that I am doing only a section of my basement.  One part will be laminate flooring while the other half will be or is already, carpet.  If I remove the base boards from the walls, when I put the flooring down it will bump the baseboards higher up the wall making them uneven from the carpet side.  Also the floor that I’m laying the laminate on already has tile down (probably from the 1960’s)  Can I just put the flooring down on top of this, or do you recommend putting something down before.  My basement is dry with no flooding problems.

humanyoda says:

I’ve forgotten if I’ve asked you this for another video or maybe it was somebody else… Why did you cut a piece out of the plank if you slid the plank under the door casing/jamb? Couldn’t you slide it under there intact? I will need to deal with this tomorrow 🙂

KrystinMyrieXo says:

like the straight to the point video! we are laying laminate through 3 rooms and a hallway do you have and how to vidoes on how to lay laminate through them, like right through the bedroom and continues through hallway into next room with no cuts ..know what I mean?

Ted Cowell says:

ugh — here it looks so easy

metals says:

Excellent video, thank you for taking the time to share. Could you just clarify what exactly are you trimming?, is it the groove on the adjoining plank?

bloodiemike says:

Fuck you

Fanio George says:

if the concret surface is uneven, what should i do?

bloodiemike says:

Oops. must of been other video. my bad. Good wrk

As an installer do you have a favourite brand? It appears to me that some brands would make going through a doorway difficult due to the design of the interlocking mechanism. Pergo for example looks like it would be difficult to use through a doorway like this. Thanks for the video.

song ID at 2:34?

slantedview says:

I noticed on this and some of your other videos you don’t appear to be using spacers between the laminate and the wall. Are you spacing things? If so, how much?

Budrick3Gaming says:

Thanks for taking the time to make this. I was scratching my head on how to do this

Janell Dunn says:

matt barr says:

Hi mate.
i live in a rented flat and ant allowed to cut the door architrave for the exansion gap so is there another way around it without cutting it?  can i lay the floor tight up to the architrave??
thanks

mark loveless says:

great video on how to avoid transition molding thank you

Nikos Ziogas says:

Nice video. Although I think you should use a pull bar (insteas of hammering the floor) to tighten the last 2 planks at the end of the video.

Dianna A says:

what did you use to cut flooring? for the angle cuts?
