Nightmare Baseboard Install !!!

Installing baseboard can be a nightmare on uneven floors. In this video, Andrew shows you how to use a level as a guide for scribing baseboard to match the uneven floor. This makes for a faster, cleaner looking baseboard install.

Tools used in this video:

FastCap Accuscribe Scribing Tool

Bosch JS470E 120-Volt 7.0-Amp Top-Handle Jigsaw

PORTER-CABLE 371 2-1/2-Inch by 14-Inch Compact Belt Sander

taiden says:

Lay a carpenter’s pencil flat on the floor and your board to be scribed in final position. Scribe. This will usually result in a scribe line 1/8″ above the floor.

Alex Herod says:

This may be a dumb question but why not cut it flat and caulk the gaps?

Tom Lagatol says:

Enjoyed the video Andrew, thanks! I know it’s a personal thing but I’d ask why you prefer the top handle jig saw to the barrel… thanks again.

Robert Desrochers says:

Great tip on nightmare baseboard. Thanks Andrew.

John Buerger says:

I like the method you used.

John Contos says:

What do you mean when you scribe from the high end to the skinny end, is that the same as working from the high spot to the lowest spot at the floor!
